Space Foundation Discovery Center

About

We are taking a hiatus from recruiting new volunteers at this time. Please refer back to this page for future opportunities with us! For questions, please contact Volunteer@spacefoundation.org or message directly under "contact administrator".

About Us:

Space Foundation's Discovery Center is the region's first and only dedicated space, science and technology center and museum. It is an interactive, education-focused destination that advances science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) in the exciting context of space exploration, development and utilization. We are dedicated to the mission of making space for all; everyone is welcome here.

Our volunteers are the "secret sauce" of what makes the Discovery Center so remarkable. We have year round volunteer opportunities within the museum gallery and interactive labs.*

*Minimum age for volunteering is 15.

Mission:

We are a hands-on, interactive space and science center focused on inspiring, educating and preparing the next generation of explorers and innovators.

Vision:

Space Foundation Discovery Center will be a community space and science education resource for visitors and the residents of the Pikes Peak region. On a state, national and international level, the Discovery Center will become a leader in the preservation, interpretation and display of space-related artifacts and exhibits. Through a diverse offering of programs, exhibits and community outreach, the Discovery Center will become an inspiring gathering place and advocate for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) education.
